The cover notes from this album state "Variety is the spice of Life" and the selections were certainly new (In Styles) when this album was recorded.
Whoever did the cover notes, they did a good job in describing the bands ability to move from a military player to modern dance performer and this is depicted in this recording. It goes onto say that they doubt that any service band to date had presented such a wide range of musical styles on an album. The band personnel is interesting in that there are 4 Bandmasters within the ranks, Bandmaster Horton, Bandmaster Gullick, Bandmaster Coxon and Bandmaster McKenzie. What was the status of Bandmaster (Rank) when this recording was made?.
